Oh that stubborn baby weight

Oh that stubborn baby weight

How long do you recon the baby weight excuse works for?  Is it still acceptable to carry some baby weight when your youngest can walk and talk? And what if your maternity leave was not in the current or even previous tax year? And by some weight I mean a stone per child, so three in total?

imagesMy baby number three is a confident 2.5 year old and truthfully I was the same weight before I had her… and before I had my baby number two…

My baby weight has been with me for eight years. I am still however not prepared to accept it as part of me.  There are still boxes of size 8 clothes in my attic and I still feel like me, not like an overweight 36 year old woman that won’t fit into size 14 jeans.

Sometimes I read magazines and I keep waiting for the “one day something happened and I realised I can’t go on like that anymore” moment.  It seems to happen to so many overweight people around the world.  They then go on to lose all their extra weight and post pictures of themselves three months later looking amazing.  I had quite a few of those moments myself.  Somehow my moments come and go and the extra weight is still with me.

I set myself goals dozens of times and as a true accountant produced charts and trackers showing me at my ideal weight in six months’ time.  It worked for a while.  Only then it didn’t and I was back at square one.

This time I will try something different.   It’s the 1st of Sept this week – three months left till December.  I will not set a target, instead, my target will be to do my best to get healthy and more active and to post weekly updates on my journey – good or bad.

Look out for updates and before and after photos, wish me luck and do join me 🙂
