Jane Plan Review – Introduction

Jane Plan Review – Introduction

I am a meal delivery novice.  I love cooking and have always been a bit skeptical about the quality of food that comes prepared and pre-packaged for you. We don’t buy ready meals at the supermarket and to me meal delivery plans were no different.

Meal Delivery – Jane Plan Review

So what’s changed and why am I even considering trying Jane Plan?  No, I didn’t get a free 28 day trial, I paid the full price of £249 + delivery. I couldn’t even find any working voucher codes (gutted :-)!).  I simply decided that I deserve a break as I can’t do it all.  I have a job, three children, an exam coming up and I am trying to keep active.   In addition whilst the weather is still good, I want to enjoy the fresh air. The aim is to try and go out for a walk or run in the evenings (he he, what I call running is a subject for a different post).

Unfortunately it seems there are no weekly options available, you have to commit to a full month. There is The Jane Plan Diet:Life Changing Weight Loss, From The Woman Who Knows book available on Amazon if you would prefer to understand the theory behind the plan.

I had a few reservation – the taste, the quality and the price.  At £249+ delivery the cost is not cheap, but I will have to evaluate this at the end of the month after I see how much of a saving I make off my regular shop.  The taste – I am not hugely fussy, but eating bland food for a month might be testing even for me. The quality – I hope the ingredients used are fresh and of a reasonable quality.  There is nothing worse than fatty meat and soggy veg even if they come in small portions.

How will Jane Plan work for us?

My mum will join me for the first week. That means I have enough meals for one week for her and three weeks for me.  For the next three weeks I am hoping to get away with weekend cooking only.

It should work as the children are normally happy with beans on toast or a sandwich in the evenings. They have their dinner at nursery before I pick them up and are not particularly hungry when they get home. For the hubby I can hopefully freeze some leftovers or if all fails, he will have to enjoy an occasional supermarket pizza.

The meals take 3 working days to arrive.  I had a text last night advising that the delivery is scheduled for today and giving me the option to reschedule.  This morning another text gave me an 1hr slot.  And now my box is finally here. So let’s get into it and get started.
